Who Is Eligible to Participate?
  1. Overseas compatriots who meet one of the following conditions:
    1.Individuals entering the R.O.C. (Taiwan) with an ROC passport, and holding valid proof of residence issued by the country of residence (such as a foreign passport, permanent resident card, or residence permit), or whose ROC passport bears an Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement.
    2.ROC nationals or overseas compatriots who enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan) using a passport issued by their country of residence.
  2. Accompanying spouses or children of overseas compatriots who meet the eligibility set forth in Item I, who have obtained a passport or permanent resident card issued by the country of residence (excluding those who hold a PRC passport and have obtained a permanent resident card issued by the country of residence) and have been granted permission to enter the R.O.C. (Taiwan), may register and check in as overseas compatriot dependents.
  3. Residents of Hong Kong and Macao who wish to participate as part of a group shall apply through the Mainland Affairs Council. Individual registrations will not be accepted.
How to Register
Overseas compatriots who meet the above eligibility requirements shall choose either “Individual Registration” or “Group Registration” in advance (please avoid duplicate registrations). The registration procedures are as follows:
Individual Registration
  1. Registration period:
    From July 10 to September 20, 2026. Registration may be completed online, by fax, or by mail.
  2. Online registration:

Group Registration
Groups are welcome from overseas community organizations registered with the OCAC or those maintaining close contact with the OCAC, overseas Compatriot schools, groups formed independently by overseas compatriots, or groups organized through travel agencies.
  1. From July 10 to August 30, 2026, please complete online group registration via the OCAC website “National Day Celebrations Section”
    (https://DoubleTen.Taiwan-World.Net).
  2. After completing online registration, please submit the group profile booklet and list of group members to the respective overseas missions or Overseas Community Affairs Culture and Education Centers for preliminary eligibility review no later than September 4, 2026.
  3. Upon receipt of the group profile and member list through the online registration system, overseas missions and Overseas Community Affairs Culture and Education Centers shall review whether the information provided is accurate and complete (for example, individuals holding both ROC and foreign passports must provide both passport numbers).
    After confirming that group members meet eligibility requirements, please print the documents, affix an official seal in the preliminary review remarks column, and submit the above group registration documents to the OCAC by official letter no later than September 11, 2026.
  4. Each returning overseas compatriot group shall consist of 10 to 40 persons in principle.
  5. Each overseas compatriot may register with only one celebration group.
    Duplicate registrations are not permitted.
  6. Groups, schools or individuals entrusting a travel agency to organize participation must provide the name and telephone number of both the overseas travel agency and the domestic travel agency.
  7. The OCAC does not provide airport pick-up / drop-off services. All celebration groups shall make their own arrangements.
Important Notes
To coordinate domestic celebration events, advance registration is required.
Participants must carefully select and indicate the events they wish to attend on the registration form. If events are not selected at the time of registration, or if registration is submitted after the deadline, no places will be reserved, and on-site substitutions will not be accepted.
How to Check In
Registered overseas compatriots must comply with the entry requirements of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) and complete check-in procedures during the designated period by presenting the original required documents. After eligibility is verified, an Overseas Compatriot Badge will be issued. Relevant check-in details are as follows:
  1. Required Documents
    1.Original ROC passport (or entry permit) and original proof of residence issued by the country of residence. Those whose valid ROC passport bears an Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement are exempt from submitting proof of residence.
    2.Applicants registering as overseas compatriot dependents, such as accompanying spouses or children, must submit documentation proving the family relationship.
    3.Original document bearing the entry inspection stamp for the most recent entry (such as a passport or entry permit).
    For those entering via the automated immigration clearance system, proof of boarding such as boarding pass stubs, must be provided.
  2. Check-in Period
    From October 5 to October 9, 2026, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

What Should Be Noted When Attending the National Day Gala Evening?
  1. The National Day Gala Evening is tentatively scheduled for October 9, 2026. Admission requires presentation of the Overseas Compatriot Badge, and participants must cooperate with security personnel for safety inspections.
    Overseas compatriots are required to wear the certificate at all times.
  2. Overseas compatriots who participate in self-funded travel itineraries announced by the OCAC that include the National Day Gala Evening will be arranged by the respective travel agencies.
  3. As the National Day Gala Evening venue is easily accessible by public transportation, shuttle services will not be provided. Participants are requested to make their own travel arrangements.
  4. Information regarding entry time, venue, and related regulations will be announced during check-in.
What Should Be Noted When Attending the National Day Ceremony?
  1. The National Day Ceremony will be held on the morning of Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Presidential Office Plaza.
    Due to limited capacity, registration for this event will close once full. Overseas compatriots wishing to attend are advised to register early.
    Those who fail to complete registration will not be permitted to attend, and on-site registration will not be accepted.
  2. For celebratory groups attending the ceremony, the OCAC will provide chartered transportation to the assembly point as needed.
    Individually registered overseas compatriots shall proceed to the assembly point on their own.
    Admission requires presentation of the Overseas Compatriot Badge, and participants must cooperate with security inspections. All participants shall depart on their own after the event.
  3. The National Day Ceremony is an outdoor event lasting 4 to 5 hours. As it may be very hot, overseas compatriots are advised to carefully assess their physical health and well-being before registering.
  4. Details regarding assembly time, location, and related regulations will be announced during check-in.
What Should Be Noted When Participating in Travel Activities?
  1. The 2026 October Celebrations travel program adopts a subsidy model for domestic travel expenses to support overseas compatriots and promote domestic industries.
    A subsidy of NT$3,000 per person will be provided.
    To further promote tourism in Eastern Taiwan, itineraries that include Hualien County or Taitung County (not limited to itineraries entirely within these counties) will receive an increased subsidy of NT$4,000 per person.
    (If total travel expenses do not exceed the subsidy amount, reimbursement will be based on actual expenses.)
    Information on participating travel agencies will be announced later on the OCAC website “National Day Celebrations Section”.
  2. Travel period:
    From September 20 to October 31, 2026.
  3. Eligibility requirements for OCAC travel subsidies:
    1.Completion of overseas compatriot check-in during the designated period and receipt of the 2026 October Celebrations “Overseas Compatriot Badge (Sub-Copy)”.
    The sub-copy must be presented at the OCAC travel service counter for verification of entry date, along with original documentation bearing the entry inspection stamp (such as ROC passport, entry permit, or foreign passport). For those entering via automated immigration clearance, airline boarding proof (such as boarding pass stubs) must be provided.
    Entry must have occurred on or after August 1, 2026. Upon verification, the travel service counter will affix a verification stamp on the sub-copy
    2.During the travel period, participation using the stamped original sub-copy of the Overseas Compatriot Badge in domestic travel itineraries of at least 3 days and 2 nights provided by OCAC-announced qualified travel agencies, and participation in at least one of the following:
    – National Day Gala Evening
    – National Day Ceremony
    – National Day Fireworks
    – Visit an OCAC i Compatriot Card Authorized Stores
    Only then may a subsidy application be submitted.
    3.Lists of travel agencies and itinerary details will be announced on the OCAC website “National Day Celebrations
    Section”(https://DoubleTen.Taiwan-World.Net).
    Applicants must provide the travel agency name, telephone number, and itinerary details when applying for subsidies.

  5. i Compatriot Card Authorized Stores offer cardholders discounts covering food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, and entertainment.
    i Compatriot Card partner medical institutions also provide exclusive health check-up programs for overseas compatriots. Returning overseas compatriots are encouraged to patronize i Compatriot Card Authorized Stores or arrange self-funded health examinations.

Friendly Reminder
  1. Overseas compatriots who are unable to return to Taiwan to participate in the celebrations are encouraged to utilize online technology to watch the various domestic celebration events via livestream.
  2. During the event period, the OCAC will arrange insurance coverage for overseas compatriots registered to return to Taiwan to participate in the National Day Gala Evening and National Day Ceremony.
    Please ensure that all required personal information (Legal names, passport number, date of birth, etc.) is accurately completed on the registration form to facilitate insurance processing.
    Incomplete information may result in denial of coverage by the insurance company.
    Participants wishing to increase coverage or add insurance items should arrange their own travel insurance.
  3. To uphold the solemnity of national celebrations, participants in the National Day Gala Evening and the National Day Ceremony are required to attend the events in their entirety and shall not leave midway.
